PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor and is a general purpose programming language that allows the client to interact with a specified server. There are many PHP functions that can be very useful to consumers including passing variables between pages (similar to online shopping cards) and automatic emails. We currently use PHP function mail() to send and recieve information from our clients on the contact form. While PHP can be used to perform simple functions, it also allows us to execute complex functions such as updating online MySQL databases.
